Maggie’s provides free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online.
Their beautiful, calming centres are located alongside NHS hospitals and offer practical advice, emotional support, and a place to talk — all completely free. Whether it’s help understanding treatment, coping with emotions, or just needing someone to talk to, Maggie’s is there for anyone affected by cancer.
Today, 12 children and young people in the UK will hear the devastating news that they have cancer. When this happens their whole world (and their family’s) can feel like it’s falling apart. Their anxieties are deep. Their education, mental health and social lives suffer. Their futures feel very uncertain.
Young Lives vs Cancer is the only charity in the UK with specialist social workers dedicated to providing tailored support to children and young people with cancer, and their families. Each year, we help more than 6,800 children, young people and their families to navigate the emotional and practical burden of cancer. We remove barriers, solve problems and prioritise wellbeing. We stop at nothing to make sure they get the right support at the right time.
We have 10 Homes from Home across the UK. Our Homes from Home are a lifeline for families. They provide a free place to stay whilst their child goes through treatment. They’re safe, supportive spaces where families can relax away from the hospital, enjoy home comforts and meet others who understand what they’re going through.
